Self Regulation Therapy (SRT)
SRT is a neurobiological approach to healing trauma, not just managing its symptoms. Working in this way works with the body and mind together, holistically, essentially releasing built up stress/adrenalin from our nervous systems that makes us sick mentally and physically.
By asking particular questions and getting you to notice what your body is sensing, built up stress/adrenalin in the nervous system can be discharged, bringing your nervous system to a more regulated state and better overall wellbeing, mentally and physically.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a short-term, goal-oriented psychotherapy treatment that takes a hands-on, practical approach to problem-solving. It’s goal is to change patterns of thinking or behavior that are behind people’s difficulties, and so change the way they feel.
Solution Focused Techniques
Depending o whether a person’s anxiety and depression are rooted in stress and adrenaline levels (subconscious) or due to their thinking patterns (cognitive), I pull from whichever therapy will help best.
Solution Focused Techniques build on strengths.
Presentations & Groups
I enjoy doing public presentations and have presented on Trauma, Working Neurobiologically with Trauma, Trauma Debriefing, FASD, Care for the Caregiver (COMPASS facilitator for Caregivers Alberta), Social Work, Body Image, and Post-Partum Depression. Please ask about presentations.
I also run groups on Depression Anxiety, Beliefs, Grief, Post-partum Depression, and Parenting. I plan to run groups and have a classroom attached to my office space for this purpose.
I look forward to hearing from you or your loved ones and “connecting” you with your old, regulated self! Contact me
